The Rock
2015
Chicago Architecture Biennial | Chicago, USA

The Rock was a public art exhibition held during the 2015 Chicago Architecture Biennial at Millennium Park. It featured salvaged 1930s limestone rocks, once used to protect Chicago’s shoreline, displayed on wooden pallets. The exhibition invited public participation, encouraging visitors to engage with the raw material through artist-led carving, painting, and performances, creating a dynamic interaction between people and material.
As part of the design team at SAIC, in collaboration with NLÉ, the project focused on transforming these historic materials while fostering community involvement, leaving a lasting impact on the city's cultural landscape.
